Houston Medical Testing

Our Story

Houston Medical Testing Services has been providing full-service drug and alcohol testing programs to companies in the Greater Houston Metropolitan, Gulf Coast area and throughout the United States since 1989. Sherri L. Vogler, the President of Houston Medical Testing Services, is licensed by the State of Texas as a Registered Nurse. We began operation in September 1989 for the primary business purpose of providing quality specimen collections for drug testing to those organizations regulated by federally mandated programs. Since that time, we have expanded our services to include all the components of federally mandated programs and programs specifically tailored to the needs of non-mandated private companies. Our Philosophies and Policies

Our philosophy of providing superior and personalized services is based on the training our owner received at the Baylor College of Medicine while conducting research studies for pharmaceutical companies. These studies required compliance with very stringent and precise Federal Drug Administration (FDA) regulations which included Chain of Custody for specimen collection. Our corporate philosophy encompasses the sensitivity, seriousness and potential repercussions of drug and alcohol testing at a level which far exceeds the practices generally followed in this field. Our standards, policies, and procedures are those set forth by the Department of Health and Human Services / Substance Abuse and Mental Health Services Administration (DHHS / SAMHSA) and the Department of Transportation (DOT), and are adhered to by us for all our clients. Our staff members, as well as the personnel located at clinics are trained in and committed to this high standard of excellence.

Our Services and Certifications

We learn through continual education programs designed to keep our entire staff updated with the varying federal regulations. In addition, we assist employers in educating their workforce when it comes to the dangers of drugs in a workplace and successful integration of employees back into the workplace after the rehabilitation process. Houston Medical Testing Services is a woman-owned business, certified by multiple certifying agencies in the state of Texas. We're an active member of the Houston Business Council, an organization whose activities are designed to enhance relationships between women and minority-owned businesses and larger corporate members. We're also a member of the Houston Drug-Free Business Initiative, an organization with a mission to educate companies on the impact and cost of drugs in the workplace. In addition, Houston Medical Testing Services is the only accredited member in the Houston area of the Drug and Alcohol Testing Industry Association, the national industry trade organization. We've passed through this rigorous certification program, which strives to uphold the highest level of standards in education, training, and collection procedures.
